Notes on Cutting Directional Accent Fabric for Cozy Nights

It is easy to use a directional accent fabric for the Cozy Nights quilt pattern. Simply, you just have to cut 2 of 4 rectangles for the HRTs in horizontal orientation, the other 2 remain cut with a vertical orientation and all the squares are cut the same as indicated in the cutting instructions. When you rotate your HRT rectangles, make sure to make a Left HRT and a Right HRT from the vertical directional fabric, and a Left HRT and a Right HRT from the horizontal directional fabric.

For the stitch and flip units, make sure to align your fabric so when it flips the direction is correct. You can always check by folding back a corner before sewing. Make 2 units in each direction as shown in the photo. If you correctly arrange the stitch and flip corners, you will end up with correct HSTs. After pressing each unit and trimming your HRTs and HSTs, you can arrange the units for block assembly.
