Uncover the mysteries behind cutting and sewing improv arcs by assembling your own improv half-circle rainbow arcs mini quilt top. Stepping into Improv. Work through improv in this fast-paced introduction to manipulating fabric to create that wonky, improv appearance. This workshop will take you through the basics of improv piecing with half-square triangles, log cabin strips, Drunkard’s Path curves, and improv stripes. The segments will build on each other as the workshop progresses. Students will complete an improv panel that finishes at approximately 18″ x 18″. Available after April 1, 2022. Mind’s Eye View. Depict a memory, place, or time(s) in your life. Translate and simplify your memory into a bird’s eye view impov quilt design. Begin by sketching a special part of your life. Using new, scrap, or reclaimed fabrics, or a combination, portray your remembered map, floor plan, or timeline in quilt form. Tips on working with reclaimed materials provided. Moon Phases Workshop. Walk through step by step of Laura’s Moon Phases quilt pattern. This workshop teaches the basics of basting curves for applique, curved English Paper Piecing, and hand applique techniques. Students will finish a quadrant of the Moon Phases wall hanging.
