The Beyond the Basics Series is designed to introduce techniques and skills needed to step towards a more advanced level of quilting and into having confidence in a higher craft. Each pattern focuses on taking a very small step into a new skill and offers many tips along the way.

The intent of the Held Together pattern is to build confidence when making improv cutting decisions. Each block will end up unique. Improv cutting guidelines and suggestions are given throughout the pattern. All Quilt Fort Co. block-based patterns are scrap-friendly and include single block diagrams, total cutting requirements, and total block requirements for each quilt size to help you apply your own scrappy look.

Fabric selection suggestion – Select a neutral, non-directional fabric for the Background + (6) Accent Fabrics in a rainbow or partial rainbow color order, a color gradient, or a value gradient.

This is an improv quilt and all finished quilts will result in a different look. No two quilts will be identical.
